Comaps Music Ltd, established in London, UK, in 1998 as a fully constituted organisation and a Company limited by Guarantee since August 2005, is a vibrant and multifaceted music and cultural organization dedicated to promoting African music and culture in the UK, with a particular focus on Central African artists and the growing Portuguese and French-speaking African communities.
The company was founded by Aime Aziza, a former professional Congolese musician and guitarist who settled in London in 1990 and later pursued higher education in music management, earning a BA Honours degree in 2001. Leveraging his deep knowledge and passion for African music, Aziza, alongside fellow musicians and colleagues, embarked on a mission to introduce and manage Central African artists in the UK, thus establishing a new and dynamic market for African music within the country. In its early years, Comaps Music Ltd played a pivotal role in the burgeoning African music scene in the UK, collaborating with prominent African music promoters and labels such as Womad, ACMC, Africa Oyé, and Sterns Music Production. The organization quickly made its mark by organizing and promoting several significant international tours, beginning with Papa Wemba and Viva La Musica in 1999, followed by tours featuring Bozi Boziana and Anti Choc in 2000, General Defao and his group in 2001, Planète Elegance from Kinshasa in 2002, Mbilia Bel and the touring band in 2004, and Hip- Hop K-Melia from Kinshasa in 2007.
